Introduction & Rules [29 Apr 2030|09:30am] Hey there! So if you've stumbled across this journal you likely either know me, or know one of my friends or by some miracle have found me all on your own. Either way you probably don't want to know a whole lot about me, but I'm going to give you just a little background so you have an idea of what you'll find here. I'm a big fan of sci-fi and horror, in particular anything that has to do with vampires, werewolves, or space aliens (bugs). With that in mind it makes perfect sense that I love panfandom and supernatural communities. The problem I've found when searching for icons on my own, is that typically icon makers tend to use the more 'mainstream' or basic looking pictures of various celebs. Well sometimes that just won't do. So, I'm striving to add as many hard to find pbs, vampires, aliens, etc as I can with a healthy dose of the usual mixed in. I also love to write in historical settings which has a very similar problem, that being there just isn't that much available. Personally I tend to icon shows I love and characters and faces who hold a special place in my heart (so if you have come looking for icons of Bradley James or Katie Mcgrath you have come to the right place - oh yes) or whoever the hell my friends need icons of. If however I don't have the time or patience to icon someone, which isn't unusual, I will also be providing various resource posts for players and games with lists of where you can find various pbs in different costumes be they demons or witches or werewolves, or whether they are simply icons made from a period film. Icon Requests [29 Apr 2028|09:43am] I don't know how often I'll be taking requests, you can leave a message here and try me but otherwise the best thing to do might just be to wait and see if I post a new entry where I'm taking them. Admittedly that won't happen often. I can however be swayed by amazing screencaps of something I love. Don't feel like you need to request things like, oh say, the main members of the Merlin cast. I generally will get to those guys but if there's an episode I haven't done yet that you're dying for let me know and I'll bump it up, or if there's an episode I've already done but I've left someone out I can icon them as well. I am able to make caps but what I have available is pretty limited and I'm not willing to download things I don't already have so if I can't find what you'd like me to make icons of on DJ CAPSLOCK or CAP IT on livejournal you're going to have to send me what you want me to make icons of. Please don't send me to a Coppermine Gallery, save the images you want to a zip and link me to some place like SENDSPACE. post comment

katie mcgrath; merlin, seasons 1-3 [08 Dec 2010|01:19pm] So ... I know. I really don't need yet another post of Katie. Here some of you probably thought I was dead and here I come with more of Katie. It's a sin. But the thing is I've had some computer issues and it resulted in my losing something like twenty-some icons sets I'd promised to upload. I'm not particularly happy about it. I ended up making this set as an experiment in a new style of making icons and I kind of like it so I thought I'd post them. Outside Resource: Georgian, Regency, Victorian & Edwardian Icons [17 Dec 2009|12:18am] Here is the long-awaited second installment of the period PB list! These are all from the 1700s up through about 1900, or can at least pass for it. If anyone knows of any other icons out there and would like to have them added to the list just comment below and I'll link it up. katie mcgrath; merlin, 'the nightmare begins' [18 Nov 2009|03:56pm] I've been wanting to post this set for the longest time. I've been kind of irritated that Morgana has gotten so little screen time this season on Merlin. This episode however was fabulous and Katie was gorgeous in it. There's three tacked on at the end from 'The Once and Future Queen', since all Morgana got was a cameo in that episode, but she was pretty and had awesome head gear so I decided to include it. colin morgan; merlin episodes 2x01-2x03 [18 Nov 2009|03:35pm] So, I remember when I started the Merlin icon project I set myself thinking that doing sets of each character from each episode individually would be fun and handy to have on hand. I also remember thinking when I had gotten through three episodes with still not one icon done of Colin Morgan that I was a little overwhelmed. Then the thought occurred to me: why not just catch up by doing one big set of Colin? Really, how bad can it be? IT CAN BE REALLY BAD! I don't know what possessed me or how it slipped my mind that Colin's penchant for pulling faces is on par with David Tennant and that I am more than a little OCD when it comes to making icons, but nonetheless it did and now I am left with this MONSTER of a set. Needless to say this will not under any circumstances be happening again. I hope. *shudders* Anyway some of the numbers are off on these because apparently I either lost or just mis-numbered them, it happens. I really don't think anyone will notice though and if that bothers you, well. Too bad. I think it goes without saying that this post is NOT friendly for dial-up or those with slow connections. Bradley James; Dis/connected [18 Nov 2009|12:08pm] [ mood | pleased ] [ music | nouvelle vague; master and servant ] Ok so I know what you're thinking. Do we really need another set of Bradley already? The answer to that is a resounding yes and I don't even care because these have been sitting on my laptop for a month waiting to be posted due to issues I was having with photobucket. So glad that's over. There's one more set of him coming up as a request I promised to do but after that I'm probably taking a break from him for a while so savor this moment. So, Bradley made me laugh my ass off in this show. There was only one episode ever made and I fully intend to icon most of the people in it though the only one you'll see coming up immediately is Holly Grainger because I have a few things in the works. There's a number (probably way too many but I so don't even care) of icons in this set from a ridiculous sex scene in a women's public restroom but they're not of the graphic nature that there was in my Billie Piper set so, I'm not going to friends lock this one. Bradley James: Merlin, 'The Once and Future Queen' [30 Sep 2009|10:16pm] This set was a pain in the ass to do, largely because the episode was so dark. Still there were so many fantastic expressions out of Bradley in this episode and the whole thing with the chicken (for which there are more icons than anyone really needs) so I had to do the whole thing. Katie Mcgrath: Various Sources [21 Sep 2009|03:30pm] Ok I was doing icons of Katie from the new episode, realized there were only a small number of shots she's actually in, and decided to just add in the few icons from Freakdog I'd already made and then do a few events just to fill things out. I know there are a few people, myself included, who have needed icons of her in contemporary clothing so here we go. Bradley James: Merlin, 'The Curse of Cornelius Sigan' [21 Sep 2009|02:42pm] Bradley is my perfect Arthur. I know the Arthurian fanatics (of which I am one) are not overly thrilled with the rampant abuse of the classic storyline wtf how do you kill off Bedivere in the first season, he's like the only one who survives the whole thing, but whatever the case may be I like the portrayal of little Wart. He's a pain in the ass, kind of arrogant, but so good at heart it's almost painful. Not to mention he's hot. ( 74 Icons ) post comment

Mackenzie Crook: Merlin, 'The Curse of Cornelius Sigan' [20 Sep 2009|05:03pm] I was not such a big fan of Mackenzie in Pirates. I heard he was in the running for the eleventh doctor, looked him up (as I wasn't familiar with the name) and pretty much sneered. And then here he shows up in Merlin and managed to endear himself to me enough that I iconned him before Bradley. I'm a little proud of myself for that. Though I have to say at the end of this episode he looks like Edgar Allan Poe, even more so thanks to the raven references everywhere. All I could think was 'nevermore'. Outside Resource: Medieval, Renaissance, & Fantasy (or passably so) Icons [06 Sep 2009|09:43am] [ mood | accomplished ] This is just a resource for whoever wants to use it. There have been a lot of period rpgs out lately and I know finding icons is always a bitch. So I am in the process of scavenging the various icon journals I know of and picking out anything where the pb is in a costume. I'll do several of these so there's one for each period, the first is medieval and fantasy, there will also be a few in here that are just from various other ancient cultures (Rome, Greece, China, India, etc). If anyone knows of any other icons out there and would like to have them added to the list just comment below and I'll link it up.
